Two questions - fertilizer in the rain, and silos with auger/conveyor
1) I assume the best time to fertilize is first after plowing/cultivating, and then after/during sowing. I missed the first time, so I have a sown field at only 50%. The guide on their site says you can fertilize after sowing, but I just tried and it did nothing - it's still 50%. It is pouring rain, so maybe the fertilizer doesn't work in the rain? Or is there some other condition for when to re-fertilize?

2) There are two silos that are fairly small and cheap for how much storage they provide, but the description says they need an auger or conveyor. I looked at the auger trailers but their pipe doesn't line up with the silo's connection that's low to the ground. Does anyone know how to hook these up, or which conveyor to use, and if they're worth it?

Thanks in advance!

you cant back to back fertilize same day
it has to advance 1 step in growth cycle.
if it needs lime, spread it before plowing/cultivating
after plow/cultivate you can either fertilize or seed/fertilize in 1 go, depending on equipment you use.
once they have grown = you can see the green sprouts, you can fertilize again. then you should be at 100%
they grow once more= they are basicly max size but still green, this is another window you can fertilize if needed

those silos i dont get, so cant help there

That makes sense, thanks!

you may need the big Convey All 1690 or something, and just drop it in from the top middle. Since that pipe you see on the bottom there is not an input, it's an output where the grain gets pulled out from the bottom onto a conveyor that puts it in a trailer

then you would just need a smaller conveyor on the output side, or just wheel this one around at it's 3 MPH speed when you need to take things out

Ohh, I didn't realize it had to be loaded at the top with one of the long conveyors. Thanks!

i haven't been able to test this in my game yet, (haven't had a grain harvest yet) but, this is how these types of silo's work IRL, if you also look at the model you can see the pull handle on the side that opens the lid at the top.

I haven't had a chance either but I'll test it tomorrow. I'm still fairly new to this series, so now I'm wondering if there's even another use for these long conveyors. This may be their sole purpose?

well placed right and chaining enough of them you can move grain from 1 corner of map to another :p
Alot of people made conveyor pipelines with silage from farm to BGA and directly into hopper. we are talking 100+ conveyors chaining
