Customization manual gearbox on Logitech G27 . FS22

Hello everyone I was wondering how to assign 8 gears to my Logitech G27 H-Shifter. I'm trying one option - it's to use for gears with 5-8, a combination of selector position + button. But the problem is that you have to hold this button to make the combination work. Perhaps someone knows how to set the button on the G27 to switch mode?

You could manually setup a splitter button for the shifter akin to how you would do so for 18 gear transmissions (truck sims or otherwise) however if the game doesn't give the option to make this a toggle-control and not a push-to-hold control I can see how this would be a pain.

An alternative (though not a free one) is to buy a Eaton Fuller shift knob, a great investment if you play truck sims or other large-gearbox simulators with manual shifting.

I guess if you are doing clutchless shifting, you could assign the clutch as the "push and hold " button for the range splitter, not realistic I know but could work.
