The game is capped at 60fps at the moment it has nothing to do with vsync.
Go into ur game.xml, changed developer to true and press f3 in game, will uncap your fps fully. YOu can also run a command in the launch file to -disablefps or something like that google it. My game also runs like absolute ass. I go from 60 fps to 40. Its so unplayable.
I tried this fix, and altering the XML to turn on developer mode causes crashes. Probably something that shouldn't be recommended anymore. They'll add a FPS slider at some point just like the last FS games did.
It's a farming sim anyway, not a FPS/etc game, so saying 40-60fps is unplayable is a bit of an overstatment and what I would consider the definition of a "First world problem"
You think so? Every time i move to look at something it lags and freezes for a split second to the point where it's completely pointless playing. I haven't had a single crash in the 3 hours I've spent trying to get the game to run right. You can disable fps with a steam launcher command anyways. You're right you don't need high fps in a sim game but it sure as hell runs a lot smoother if you have a 144hz + display.
P.S. I wasnt saying i get 40-60 fps, i was saying i dip from 60fps to 40 every couple seconds, that's unplayable.
"Go to the Nvidia control panel.
Now select “3D Image Settings” from the “Adjust Image and Preview Settings” menu.
Now go to “Advanced 3D Settings” and copy the following values.
Low latency mode: Ultra
OpenGL rendering GPU: Your graphics card.
Power management mode: Maximum performance.
Texture filtering quality: High performance.
Vertical synchronization: Enabled (Do not enable it in the game, but enable it in the nvidia settings)"
I followed both of these advises, and it seems to have fixed my stuttering issues. Now I have a pretty much steady 60 fps, once in a while it can dip to 55 fps, but no big deal there. Playing with very high graphic settings, but I had to turn off multisampling anti-aliasing and leave TAA on. The game doesn't look better than FS19, and it doesn't look like screenshots on the store at all, but at least it's playable now.
Anyway, I'm still on the fence about getting a refund or not, I don't think this game is worth full price.
I look in the help sections to unlock the fps
You are a life saver man, thanks!
