Exactly. Easily the #1 most anticipated feature, perhaps #2 being seasons within the game.
Yes, we do have mods - but bear in mind that modding isn't as popular as people would like to believe. Vast majority of players will see seasons and these kind of automations for the very first time. Besides, not every person playing this game is a hardcore seasoned veteran as many of us here seem to be. There will be plenty of newcomers attracted by these new features.
Not an improvement? The field work has almost never been an issue, it is normally the lack of ability to do anything outside of field work that is the key issue. Courseplay could do this, but it was clunky and poorly designed. Giants is taking its first iteration at it and anyone expecting it to be on equal footing from launch is starting with unrealistic expectations.
I don't know what to tell you man. The old AI, full of bugs, was still enough for me to get plenty of enjoyment out of the game. I'm happy to not have to wait for these mods to catch up. People are going to complain if there are advancements, people are going to complain if there's not.
Not very much at all then.
