Adding it while havesting chaff/grass or baling grass is uspposed to increase silage yield when it is firmented.

Silage additive is used in forage harvesters, forage wagon and in the krone baler. It can be used only with fresh forage (grass for the baler and forage wagon, silage for the forage harvester).
It works as a multiplier, it add 5% to the material you pick uo from the ground or to the silage processed by the forage harvester.
Keep in mind that, for forage wagon, silage additive works only for the stuff you pick from the ground with the pickup, if you use the forage wagon as a normal trailer with a forage harvester the silage additive won't work (you'll see that the fill level won't diminish)
