Spawned both in and on mine no issues, it hooked right up
So after you said that I went back and took a closer look in the store. The Kinze does indeed
appear to be missing the lower part of the hitch but I think it's actually buried in the terrain.
So with my superpower of tool rental and my massive bank account I tried this.

Didn't work. Thanks for pointing this out but I guess it's just a bug. No mods installed yet. Just started playing .
EDIT: It was doing a fair bit of twitching on it's own before I tried to hook it up. (Occasionaly jittering) I guess that was a sign something was amiss.
Tried to reset the Kinze, on the map screen? (select tool/vehicle on the map, prompt for reset shows up) If yes and not working, toss a few logs of wood or something under it, the game should then choose another spawn slot for at the vehicle trader, when hitting reset.
