Report a translation problem
copy this map_dem.png file into your save game folder, delete the existing file terrain.heightmap.png and rename your copied map_dem.png file to terrain.heightmap.png.
make sure you make a backup of your save before doing this!
you could also try directly editing the terrain.heightmap.png in your save game folder if you are feeling adventurous, but you'll need an editor that can work in and save as 16 bit grayscale, like the free image editor GIMP, or you'll end up with some really weird terrain. its really hard to work with since the gradual shifts between color values are hard to discern, but you could copy a section from the default map's map_dem.png and paste it over a mistake in the save game's terrain.heightmap.png if you just wanted to revert a section.
