From grass to regular crops.
Planted grass in my field and harvested twice. Now I want to plant something else. I tried to plow it with a subsoiler and it wouldn't work unless I set it to create field mode. Is this the correct way? What do you guys do?

In the past a regular plow worked, but I haven't tried this yet on 22

I just use a cultivator and then plant the new seed.

You should't have to plow after grass, but I don't know why it wouldn't work, probably just an oversight. I would try a cultivator.

I tried a power tiller and that didn't work. I'll go back and try a regular cultivator and see what happens.

A cultivator didn't work. I guess I'll have to create a new field every time I finish the grass. Oh well.

stupid question, you used a planter to plant grass correct ? i did this recently and I was able to cultivate area back into normal soil for planting

I thought it has always been once you plant grass the only way to remove it was to plow it using the create field option.

You can use cultivators, harrows, etc. Is this some random patch of grass and not actual field you're cutting? Only reason you would need to "plow" it.

Maybe you need to tell us what map you are on? Sounds like a field the game is not registering.

Negative! You treat it like any other field.

I just used my lizard subsoiled to do this without create field option. Tonight I will try my cultivator.

I realized my seeder is not a direct drill so either way I’ll have to do it.

Elmcreek, field 54. Planted and harvested wheat, and canola in that field first. Decided to run grass after I harvested the canola in July so that I could run silage until I get ready to plant sorghum in April.
Just wanted to rotate crops a little. It,s the stock Elmcreek map, but I do have afew mods.
