What happens when I don't repair my vehicles?
Since the repaircosts are so over top I refuse to do it. Are there any consequences?

Damaged equipment reduces your working speed.
Damaged tractors have less power.
Damaged harvesting equipment also causes losses on yield.

Are these really true?
Yes.

Repair costs don't seem all that bad to me. Several years into my game and only repairs I've done are to the ones I bought on sales. Repainting is expensive but that's purely cosmetic.

OP, you tell me, and we will both know. I Have kept paying up until now... :)

If its anything like earlier Farming Sims then repairs will only lower the power of the vehicle. A tractor that have been able to do some heavy work with some heavy machinery might no longer be able to. It will still run and it will still work, it might just not have the power to run some machines that it might have been able to before.

Dont think I've ever repaired my tractors at all and I can still use em. But I'm also not using machinery that requires all of my tractors power to just run.

If it is anything like 19, a drop in horsepower. But even then, from what I was told, It really didn't make that much of a difference. However....with the new gearbox feature it might.

Like way2co0l, I don't find the repair bill all that bad. I'm in my 3 or 4th year on the french map (3 day seasons) running a 6R, Valmet and Steyr (13 odd hours on each machine) with fields 40,41,42,38,39,37 and 31. It cost me 23k, with the 6R at 14k odd, to rep for a seasons work and all tractors at 37% when I repaired. Over that year I possibly pulled in just under 150k doing OSR,soy and silage bales with the odd bit of wheat/barley. Given that income a 23k repair bill doesn't seem that bad.

It's been that way in at least FS19, and I doubt they've removed it for FS22.
For example:

I just tested this for myself. A damaged harvester does indeed decrease yield.

Steps to test:

Ravenport: Bought field 21, Wheat ready to harvest. Bought a new Ideal Harvester and header. Both 100% condition of course, brand new. Saved the game and then harvested the field. Yield = 13201.

Quit the game and edited the Vehicles.xml from that save game. To edit the condition of the harvester, under "data/vehicles/agco/ideal9/idea9.xml"

<wearable>
<wearnode> amount = 0.002849" />
</wearable>

to <wearable>
<wearable> amount = 990.002849"/>
</wearable>

Loaded the save game up again. This time the header is still 100%, but the havester is now 0%. Harvested the same field. Yield = 7922

For a rather small field, that is a significant difference.

How does a damage trailer impact things
Sarkubocael 8/dez./2021 às 10:12
What does paint damage do? Because its super expensive to repaint... Its like 4000e to repair my tractor but 11.500 to repaint...

It makes your stuff look damaged, used, and worn.
There shouldn't be anything else, as gameplay effects are handled by the normal repair state.

Maybe it reduces top speed? I've honestly never felt like it does do anything on simple trailers.

Yes, it's true

Do we know from which rates the decays start? Or should I rather just repair after every harvest?
