Train rental question
Can someone explain the cost of renting the train to Gold crest? By that I mean I have used the train 5+ times and have paid as little as $47 dollars and as high as $19k for the train. I cant seem to figure out what determines the overall cost? Each time I rent it I spend less than 5 mins real time loading it, as my grain is already in silo, and then drive it off map yet there is a HUGE discrepancy in cost to use. It would seem as though the amount of grain being sold plays a role as my last haul I sold over 140k liters of goods and the cost was 19k rental. Anyone have thoughts or know for sure what determines the cost?

it is based on your in-game speed, I set mine to 0.5 when doing anything with the train, then its mega cheap.

The train costs 1000 money per hour.

As above, it is 1000 per hour, load it and send it off fast and you only pay for the minute or two it took you to do it.

The renting of the train is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanic anyway, so ya, real time that ♥♥♥♥ with using it.

The cost of the rental is determined by in game time. I usually slow to real time or half time when using the train. Where a lot of confusion comes from, is when finishing the train, the message on the screen displays the total cost of all leased equipment acquired and used for that day.

So I figured that as well but at the time I sold my last haul on it the game time was set to real time. I will try it again with .5 vs real time to see if its any different. The other factor I didnt consider was if you are selling two different products. The time it only cost me $47 I was selling a single type of grain. This last one that cost me $19k was two different grains on same train.

So, changed time to .5 sold 210k sugar beets via train and it cost me 29k!!!!!

I sold the remaining beets and sure enough it only cost me $48 bucks. So there is literally no consistency.

It is consistent. As mentioned in post #5, when you finish it doesn't show the train leasing cost, it shows you the cost of everything you have leased. The times it was low you didn't have any leases to add in to the displayed figure.

As above. I can confirm it adds in all leased items in the cost that appears. You should only be charged the few coins it costs to do a short rental on the train.
