Breaking Bales back into loose hay/straw
FS22, obviously.

I've made too much hay. Gonna need to bale it. What equipment do I need to BREAK IT BACK UP into loose hay? Is this a possibility? I'm going into winter, have a ton of animals to feed through it, and I need to store this extra hay obviously.

Thanks!

I have seen bales broken back into loose using a self propelled feed wagon (the thing you mix TMR in).

You can either toss the bales into it or use that grinder looking extension arm on it to grind it to loose

I've tried this and have read a few things online that say it's a real pain to get it just right in the feeder icon for the animal. I'll try again but I haven't had much luck with it.

I'll try that. Thank you, I appreciate it!

tmr mixer, whichever is cheapest and fill it with one type your feeding (straw, hay, silage)
or you can buy a hayloft and store 250000 litres for the winter.

You can also store loose hay in a hay loft. That'll save you from having to bale it.

Yes, my hayloft is full of hay atm. I had some hay left over from the tedder and baled it into round bales. Do they have to be small square bales instead?

Chopper wagon also works. Just slow to use as you have to load it bales one by one.
