Restarted server on g-portal, now the server is wiped?
So my friends were saying they were having trouble joining after we have put about 30 hours into our farms, I just did a restart and went on and none of our farms are there, its like joining a new map...so I left and now none of us can join even though the server says it is online

With G-Portal, you shouldn't restart the server through the normal GPortal page, but rather through the Farming Simulator server interface pages that they link to. You know, the pages that allow you to adjust the password, the server name, active mods, etc. Check to see if in the savegame tab that there is a backup of the server save if the progress has reset.

Cant help on your current problem, but i would always access the server via ftp on the end of the day and copy the savegame. Did that every day in Valheim and other games. The ftp access data is shown on your gportal pages.

Thank you for the reply, there is a list of backup saves from SAVEGAME 3 (Which was where I placed the server)...what process do I do now? I have chosen one, uploaded to 3, I go back to home and it says ''Sever log files contain errors''..and restarting on here does not change that message

It means the log has an error message somewhere. You can go to the logs by clicking that text and search the log for the error, it usually is nothing breaking.

As for the save, when you hit restore it'll restore the copy of the backup you have selected to the slot. If it did nothing, its possible you restored a very early copy of the save made back at the start. Check the dropdown list and pick the one with the most playtime as that will likely be the most recent backup of your farms. Just to be safe, also check on the main page to make sure the server is saving to that slot as well.

As long as the server still works those error msgs usually have little to none importance. For example I get errors in my log file all the time - server still works as intended. I get errors in two mods from the mod hub - mods still work and show no errors on another dedicated server.

You should always keep backups on your own computer as well, make daily local backups from g-portals dedicated server. Lucky for you the FS22 dedicated server also keeps backups so you can just restore from them as well.

When you shutdown/restart from the g-portal website you restart the cloud service you subscribed to, not the actual dedicated server for FS22 - to restart the dedicated server you should as said go directly into the web interface for the dedicated server.

Yeah that's not really breaking, just saying it couldn't access a file. Try using the restore function on the most recent save (Again one with the most playtime). When you restore the save, make sure the window above says its the most recent via the playtime by matching it with the restore option. When it does, restart the server on the home tab and check for the progress.

If that still doesn't help fix, best fix otherwise I can think of then would be to make multiple temporary farms in-game and pay the original farms back as a sort of recovery fund from the temporary farms to allow the players to repurchase the vehicles, equipment, animal pens, and other things they may have owned.

That is normal it seems, no need to worry about that one. Server should work fine.

If you want more info on the errors I'd suggest making a support ticket with gportal themselves in their support area on the main site. My experience with their customer service has been pretty good

After several failed attempts to join I am in and it seems to have rolled back maybe half an hour but is much better than start anew, thank you so much for the help
