ok thx mate ... what option of joystick should you buy if you must choose between my 3 options ?
i myself bought a X-55 Rhino for flying games. but i am currently using that for farm sim as well.
currently my setup is a G-27 wheel, with its standard H-shifter. as well as an add-on made by Almar that is basically a MAN truck shift knob. and then i also have my X-55 stick plugged in for front loader/tele handler use.
all works great.
EDIT (i said all works great, but i dont have any force feedback in my wheel, im pretty sure its a bug with the game though, because my wheel works fine in other force feedback games)
i use also the almar shift knob on my trustmaster shifter ( scania option) can i ask then for what you use that almar shiftknob in farming sim ? we know offcorse why we use him in ets2 or ATS lol :-)
is it hard to setup the wheel, pedals, joystick in farming sim ? because of that i am a little bit scared ...
thx for your great reaction mate ... i would go for the trustmaster tca sidestick if i am honest because that is more cheap then the others ... cost 49,99 euro .
but i thinik it must be really fun to use a joystick for indeed front loaders and more instead of a xbox controller...
you just go to loader lift up control setting. and then click on it. move the joystick in the direction you want, and done its assigned.
im using the Almar shifter because i dislike taking it off XD im using it to change driving direction because i have the MAN TGX version that has the small engine brake button on it. im using that to change from going foreward to going backwards.
you cant really use the split and stack switches because unlike ETS and ATS i cant tell the game to treat them as a toggle switch, so instead it treats them like single click buttons.
as for the gear shifting itself. i have the pedals on my wheel set to shift the gear group (LL-low-medium-high) and im using my stick in sequential mode for the power shift gears.
ok thx mate , so just to be clear ... i just change the xbox controls to my steer/pedals/joystick controls ?? Sorry fot he noob questions but i am new to this lol
and also the deadzone zones ... how do i know what AS1 deadzone or AS 2 deadzone is ??
and as for the gearbox controls. you just go to the keybinds. then in the top. click gamepad.
now assign stuff the way you want under the gearbox section.
at the gearbox section you just click on "clutch", and then press your clutch pedal. if it did not assign that automatically.
then i have "shift gear up" and "shift gear down" assigned to my shifter which like i said is in sequential mode.
then i have "shift group up" and "shift group down" assigned to the shifter pedals on my wheel.
"change driving direction" in the gearbox section is set to the button on my ALMAR shifter.
oh also i dont have an xbox controller myself. so idk how it has configured your game. i would unplug the xbox controller. and only plug in the wheel and shifter. assign that stuff. and then plug the xbox controller back in after. so that it gets recognized as controller 2. and not controller 1
for me it did things like assign brake and gas pedal as well as the steering automatically. but if not, it should be as simple as clicking the keybind. and then moving the control you want.
ok thx mate for the great info :-)
1st one is the wheel, then the second third and fourth one are for the gas/brake/clutch pedal : so the game chooses this automatic ? i guess your set all deadzones to 0% ?
for the gearbox thing , i will see if i do it manual or keep it automatic ...
and then i guess the front loader and other stuff i need to assign to my new joystick then . but there are many things you can assign there. its little bit overwelming for me now lol
do you have maybe any links ? Because i have not a lot of time to search for that .
Yeah i am a little bit busy sorry :-)
thx for your reply mate
