HOLY CRAP have you planted grass???
Have you seen the seed usage on planting grass!?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm going broke!

I'm using the Pottinger Terrasem C6F seeder and it just sucks the grass seed out when planing grass, holy smokes.

Yeah I am using the Kuhn Espro 6000 RC with like 2900L tank, gone in a pass... its ridiculous. Gonna check to see if the Config file can be modified.

This is normal. Have you ever seeded grass in real life? The seeds are way smaller and you need to use way more of them. Its not like you pick out a single seed and drop it a distance apart in neat rows in a field. It’s nothing like seeding food crops or etc. It works just like it should.

Plus it’s permanent and grows back after time.

Yeah Cannot find anything in config....

but seriously, I have played every FS since 13, and Grass has never been THAT hungry, 2900 litre tank gone in one pass, on a Sub 5 acre field.... no way.

I literally use 100 fertilizer per pass...

I posted this earlier today as well. Looks like different seeders use a different amount of seeds too. It does makes sense the seed consumption is very high. The fact that grass does grow back makes this a bit easier to accept.

I literally just seeded 50% of a field twice the size in fs 19, and used 250 litres...
I understand new game, new seeding rules, but a 1000% increase in usage, seams unreasonable.

Grass is the same way in real life, this is a simulator

I have to add, that i kinda got a shock my self when planting, but, as others said, it regrows and can be harvested most of the year, it makes sense. were just not used to it because of the previous installments. and as a former greenkeeper on golfcourses i can confirm the seed use is insane when seeding grass. correct me if i'm wrong but if i remember correctly its a good thumb rule to say that only every 7th seed of grass on average has a chance to actually root and grow.

I think there is some kind of issue, I'm using lime to fertilize some fields and when I drive the vehicle, it gets used up very very quickly, but if I have an AI do the job he can finish the field.

I'm also an FS15 and FS19 vet. This has got to be a bug, you can go get the weeder that seeds grass and you can seed more than 10 times the area in grass than you can with the other seeder. If they had changed it to be more "realistic" as a few of you contend, then this weeder that can seed should be using the same amount of grass seed per area.

I have tested several Seeders, the issue seams to be with the Seeder/Fertilizers, they drop about 100 L per Meter, where as the Seeders, drop about 1 L per meter.
This is definitely not normal, I tested The Kuhn Espro, the Lemkin Solitar, the Pottinger Terra seam, the Amazone Citan, and the Nordstan HK, with similar results with the Combi seeders. I can give specific numbers if requested.

As a Reccomendation, I would suggest using just the straight seeders, or the Seeder/Weeders for now
Unless you like spending 10s of thousands of dollars on seeds.

Is it unreasonable though? You will literally never have to seed the field again as long as you don't plow it out for another crop.

The issue isn't if it is cost effective, or worthwhile, the issue is whether it is a BUG, or if its intentional. Through my testing it seams to be a BUG, cause I can complete the entire thing with less than 250 litres used, with one machine, and use 2750, and get 15% seeded with another.
