What do I do while waiting for crops to grow?
Fairly new to the FS franchise.
I have spent my 1.5 million on land/equipment and have planted every spot I own.
Other than contracts, what can I do while waiting?
I didn't think to buy a house.. so I am stuck at 120 speed alt-tabbed for now. Anything else I can do while waiting?

Sell land if need be to buy a house, it is truly worth having. Usually you focus on animals, contracts, building new buildings, sowing new fields, buying new equipment and/or moving new equipment.

Explore, twiddle your thumbs, *%&!@#, .....
Best to do contracts so you can get enough money to buy a house to sleep in, imo.

i found a nice way to earn cash ingame. Buy a field that is ready for harvesting, You harvest it and then you sell the field. So all you get is the crops. Contracts are hopeless to do when they are bugged and ending up stuck on 89%.. Oh and remember to set speed to 1, that way you can do more fields :)

You can use the farmhouse to sleep and skip forward days. running at 120 speed alt tab is not necessary whatsoever. This is exactly as the in-game help guide tells you (and about 100 freaking steam discussions if you use the search tool).

I am doing this currently for hardmode to get a good set of starting cash to eventually buy permanent land.

Loans are also an option to be able to afford the house if you spent your starting cash

It's pretty clear that dancing in fields is the intended method of passing time in the game.

What a nice simulator where you can no longer play in real time, instead it's a afk game now.

I could afford a chain saw and I started chopping down all the trees and plowing every last square inch.

We have complete freedom to build and landscape anywhere on the map we can purchase land and you choose to watch plants grow?

I make everything my cows need from a grass meadow and a wheat field. Then I sell their milk, use the slurry and sell the surplus.

Lots of mowing, lots of bailing and generally lots of driving around with the milk tank. Making silage, making hay and mixing food also takes up some time. The wheat field is just a little work once a year.

Generally I'd just play the game on a faster speed, if I didn't have much to do. The great thing about grass is, that it's there all year.
