So confusing.. mulchers, plow, cultivator, disk harrows, sub soilers..
There is so many to choice from... iknow cultivator is just before you sow, plow is every 3 times you sow...

But when do i know when to use the others? disk harrows, sub soilers, mulchers etc?..
the info the game gives you is just that it works like any cultivator really...

From what I've understood, all do he same just at different levels. The cultivators for example, are faster but have the con of weeds popping up more often; the harrowers are the fastest and produce the most weeds; the plow, is slowest but less weeds.

I've been using the sub soilers and it has been a pretty even trade off.

Mulchers I haven't used yet but I understood that they are only for specific crops.

(If I'm wrong, someone correct this please. But this is just what I'm noticing from my game)

From what I know from Farming Simulator 19 (22 is still being downloaded for me) disk harrows act like cultivators. Sub soilers acts like a plow and mulchers are used for getting rid of grass and weeds in vineyards.

I don't know much about the rest (if there is anything more)

Hope that helps!

Cultivators, disc harrows, power harrows, subsoilers and spaders all do essentially the same thing. It is true that disc harrows allow weeds to sprout faster as compared to a cultivator, no idea about the rest. A subsoiler or spader can also be used instead of a plow. Plows are mainly used to get the plow state or to create new fields. I would assume you could use the subsoilers and spaders to create new field as well but I will not guarantee that.

The mulchers are a totally different tool with a totally different function. They are either used to crush the crop stubbles and thus increasing yield, or to remove tree stumps and bushes if you use a forestry mulcher.

Edit: Most of this info is pulled from ingame, so yell at Giants if any of it is wrong.

so if i use a disc harrows my stuff grows faster?.. i mean the description only says "it plows shallower" but nothing about if it does any difference or are better for sertain things..
first time ever i play a game like this so was very confused when i jumped in to what i should have right now i have the smalest cultivator and smalles plow.

I think its just the speed at which it prepares the field, but I heard that it has a higher chance of weeds popping up faster (assuming you have weeds turned on) The growth time isn't really a factor its all about the yield of the crop. The more prep work normally means more yield. Sometimes you might want to do a quick cultivate to make it in time for the current sowing season, So if you were planning on planting a crop but the last day of the season you might want to quickly prep the field with a faster bit of gear in order to get the seed down?

I can only imagine that scenario on the top of my head, I mean a more gameplay thing to do is turn the "clock" down to the slowest setting give you more time to actually do it, I suppose its for those who wish to really Role play their farm? (Like I do)

But seriously check out that video, and join his channel (I am not affiliated just think he does a fantastic job - he got me hooked on this game!)

watched the video, he didnt say anything more then the speeds and if they cultivate or not lol. i mean , well, the speed of things where all i learned lol.
So i will just asume they all act the same with some different speeds and such..and its down to taste.

what about fertilizer? why is bags more expensive ? and is liquid better then solid?
Hyperite 27 listopada 2021 o 6:43
With fertilizer you spread it twice for an yield increase of 23% each time. Liquid and solid have the same effect, but can be spread by different tools. As far as I can see the solid fertilizer bag is $100 less for the same amount of fertilizer versus the pallet.

Mulcher - Use this after harvest to cut down the remains of the harvested plants. +5% yield for the next harvest

Cultivator, disc harrow, power harrow - All of these "cultivate". Primary differences are working width and working speed. Disc harrows are fastest but also increase weed growth, cultivators are widest but slowest, and power harrows are somewhere in the middle with small working width but can be combined with certain seeders to do cultivating and seeding at the same time.

Plow, subsoiler, spader - All of these "plow", removing the "needs plowing" effect on fields that would reduce your harvest yields. Plows can also create new fields.
Jimmy Vega 27 listopada 2021 o 8:16
Mulch, plow, lime, cultivate, roll, seed then fert twice.
