how to make simple edit of mod?
want to edit a mod for own use, not to upload anywhere, which is allowed i think.
Its a Ropa tiger for potato, beet and carrots.
Ropa itself is ok, but i want to make a simple edit of the 3 different headers.
They are 4 meters as standard.
I want to make them wider. Just the work area, not the physical measurements to fit work area. I am well aware it gonna look stupid and it will be hard to aim etc but thats my problem.
What line should i edit in the XML file?

Hey there!

You will need the giants editor for that. and the unpacked mod, which you need to repack after your done.

Open the header you want to edit with the Giants Editor. In the scene graph on the left side you can find the workAreas transform groups.

You can edit startIndex, widthIndex and heightIndex to your liking with the rattributes window that is usually on the right side of the editor. In your case only the widthIndex should be important.

If there is a 'startIndex translate X=2.0 and a widthIndex translate X=-2.0, then the working width is 4 meters. Change it how you like. Save and repack the mod.

You can also edit i3d files with notepad++ without using GE. Just right click on the i3d file and choose edit with notepad++.

I tried doing this in notepad++ and I am able to open the xml file but it won't let me edit anything in the file. Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Make sure to unzip the mod before any edit, you can leave the unzipped mod into the mod folder it makes no difference, it need to be zipped only for multiplayer, make all the modding, testing and when you're ok you can rezip it.
