Worth upgrading from FS2019?
Title says it all. Game's a bit pricey so would love your thoughts on whether it's 'worth it'. Whats the diff between this iteration and the one before

It's up to you if it's worth or not, it depends on your personal playstile (farm sim players tend to simulate their local farming environment).
Personally i think so because of some features like more detailed soil work and the new crops.
I've heard the game introduces seasons and production chains - excellent additions in my view

I had the game since day one. It has been a love and hate relationship with it. It started life with tons of problems, there are still a few problems.

As for the Seasons aspect, well to be blunt it sucks, FS19 Seasons was much better. Giants took the idea and butchered it. Don't get me wrong I love the game and play it all the time.

Productions is pretty cool, I never used Global Company in 19 so it's is new to me. One side effect is once you buy a production plant you can't sell it. You will have to delete all together.

Visually the game looks much better IMO and better optimised.

19 has tons of mods for it. I logged over 3k hours on it. I haven't gone back to FS19 since I got FS22. Mods are starting to come out fast and heavy for 22 but there are still lots I miss.

It is worth upgrading, many things that were only as mods before like seasons are now in base game and can be disabled too if wanted
Most machinery from Giants that were in previous games can be downloaded in game as mods for free, just search Giants in the downloadable content menu
I really enjoy all the new crops and factories plus distributing produce myself in a Mack truck :longhaul:

It's worth it, if you loved 19 or other versions, you'll love this one too. It does play differently. But that's actually a good thing. If you miss features from 19, play that now and then, right. That's what i plan to do, but i have had fs 22 since day 1, and haven't "had time" to go back to 19 yet.
Biggest difference, is how seasons in 22 differ to the 19 mod, and also how animals work in 22. The economy is also quite different, but all good and fun.
Mod wise, i think most of the necessary mod's from 19, is now available on mod hub, for fs 22. All i still wait for is "object hider"

yes i forgot about that object hider mod it was great and hope we get it back one day
Probably worth mentioning that I only started getting into FS19 a couple of weeks ago. I'm still figuring this stuff out. No mods yet - seems this community is really, really mod heavy hey
The tutorial in 19 wasn't great, but there are some fantastic youtube channels that show how to play the game

My 'farming background' is stardew valley. Tbh the business management side of the game is what really draws me in. Already I've hit some major limitations in 19, not the least of which is that you can't really automate your income generation. I can hire a person to plow my field, but why can't I hire them to drive my grain in to town etc. Or exercise my frikkin horses.

FS19 almost feels like 'tractor driving simulation game' with farms in the background

For the "luxury problems" you mention. There are mods to do that for you.

Horse helper: Trains your horses dayley for you
Courseplay: There you can "program" to do every thing you want. for example: You harvest weat. The helper comes to you with a tractor an weagon to unload you, goes to your farm, empty it in your silo and comes back again to you field, stands next to the field and waits until your harvester is almost full again. An other tractor, truck or car is unloding your silo in the same time and sells everthing.

Those are just 2 mods. There are alot of them.

Coursepaly takes alot of time to learn good. But youtube is verry helpful with it :)
