Unpopular Opinion: Youtube Survival series

If a Youtuber advertises a series as Survival, but then uses auto-drive, courseplay, super strength, auto-load trailers, and pays workers only 50% wages, it is NOT a survival series.

Survival is defined as: the state or fact of continuing to live or exist, typically in spite of an accident, ordeal, or difficult circumstances.

Simply starting out with limited funds does not make it a de facto survival situation.

Also, Youtubers aren't playing the game as a hobby. They are paid in advertising revenue, channel subscriptions, Patreon, merchandising, etc.

Definitions matter, and a survival series should have defined rules and conditions.

Just like playing "Realistically" has a different definition for everyone. Realism is subjective in video games. For some people, it's heavy motion blur, very sharp shadows, bloom, sun flares, high-resolution textures, etc. To some people it's following all traffic rules. Is it suddenly not survival because the player decided to -pause- the game during a quick-time event. Not survival because they took out a bank loan to buy new equipment?

But since this is about clear definitions of a way to play the game, why not define it yourself? All you've done is say what you believe doesn't count as survival, but have no defined survival yourself. You only used a vague description.

I understand, I'm part of the speedrunning community, mostly as a spectator. Rules that everyone agrees upon is very important in our community. Community agreed-upon rulesets are what determine if a run is legitimate, in said community. But players are free to make up their own rules and own leaderboards based on those rules. They're called categories and sub-categories.

Where did I say my opinion was "correct"? In fact, the title clearly stated UNPOPULAR OPINION.
So, IN MY OPINION, a Survival series for FS22 would be the following:
- NO use of Courseplay orAuto-drive allowed - UNLESS, the player is able to either purchase and place several residential buildings on a map such as No Man's Land, or there are sufficient residential areas on the map. In either case, worker wages must be 150%-200% of normal.
- Auto-load trailers NEVER allowed.
- Start with the smallest plot of land, small log cabin, one pickup truck (edited to depict poor condition) and utility trailer (edited for poor condition), chainsaw. Modify the finances - have only $1000 cash, but player is in debt ($100K-$500K). No additional loans allowed, as player has a poor credit rating.
- No leasing of equipment. Either buy new or used vehicles only.

You do realize you are getting twisted up over a simulator game where I get to raise chickens and take the eggs to market, right?

You might want to rethink your perspective here.

If you don't like a youtuber's gameplay style, start your own channel and see how many views you get with your 100% survival rules.

You sound like the whiners that complain that comedic gameplays aren't playing seriously.
