To the mod map makers....
For the love of god.... What is the obsession with making all the starting farms and storage areas sooooo tight and tiny? There is literally not enough room to make a U turn with a small tractor and implement on most of these maps. The fences and gates are ridiculous on most of them. They get put on an angle from the main roads and even if you have something that can fit through them, its almost impossible just to make the corner. I gave up driving through most. Now I just toggle super strength and throw all my equipment over and hook it back up on the other side. I get it, you are making the map at what you think it needs but FFS... There was one that was ok but all the roads to the fields have trees overhead that block your view so you cant see anything without going first person. It would be nice if someone made a map that had ample room to move around and all animal barns placed near the main farm. Maybe its just me but all the mod maps are just ass for one of these reasons or another...

Make your own map

vanilla game is best - get on with it
I assume you are talking about European maps? Well in Europe there are lots of hedges and narrow roads so the map makers (who, you know, deserve our thanks for all their hundreds of hours of work) aim for realism. As more maps come out I'm sure you will be able to find some you like.

You might try "Greenlands" - in that one you can delete all the hedges and gates if you want to.

That's why I stopped playing most European maps in FS17. They are beautiful and well made but just too cramped and tight for my taste. The base game French map is an exception and I have enjoyed playing the Fleur De Lys mod based on the base map. I still don't understand the Euro designers' use of gates everywhere. Is crop and equipment theft a big thing in Europe?

How can you possibly complain about a FREE mod map that no one forced you to download, If you are dissatisfied then make your own map just how you like it. Can't stand ungrateful people who think the world revolves around them.

Sounds like a good time for you to learn how to use the Giants Editor.

He has the free will to do so.

The maps you are talking about are EU maps, that's how it usually is.
Maybe play an American map. Find one off the modhub, or play the one standard in the game.

There were lots of open maps in fs19 but all the ones for fs22 are this way... 90% of my original statement was constructive criticism so save the self righteous keyboard warrior ♥♥♥♥ for yourself homie...

Hard pass. I spent enough time cutting down trees in FS19 there...

That is what I mean, even with the smallest equipment, you can barely fit through most of the gates and alleys. A couple of the mod maps have such a bad layout, its crazy... I get that it looks great so dont get me wrong, but honestly, who enjoys some of these?

I agree, still waiting on some good maps in the ModHub. There is not a big selection but I guess that takes time. Those tight UK maps drive me crazy too and I steer clear of them.
I'm playing The French Plain and I recommend it, IMHO it's the best map in the HUB right now.

I swear, some of the people playing this game are helpless.

Load the map. Just north of the equipment dealer there are two signposts side-by-side. One controls random rocks, one trees. Cut either of them down with the chainsaw and presto! no more rocks, no more trees.

There are plots for big fields. Forest plots for forestry. Flat plots,, steep plots, water plots. No pre-cut maps. Only one pre-made dirt road. Make any sort of farm you like.

same can be said about other games, no one forces you to buy game so best not to make a critique i suppose "Can't stand ungrateful people who think the world revolves around them." what a troll, serious though the map modders could make it a bit more roomy.

I don't like playing many of the cramped EUro maps myself. That is more because I am not that good at driving by keyboard than anything else.

I have been enjoying playing the Frankenmuth map though. Lots of space and if you own the starting area you can remove all the buildings on that area and build to your own taste.
