Zoomed when game is opened
Hi, if someone can help please. Everytime I open Elden ring the game is super zoomed in on the left portion of the screen. I cannot alt tab out of it when this happens and it wont change in the games settings.

dunno what you mean, can you show screenshot?
When I take a screenshot the picture is just black like nothing is running
same issue here
I think one way to fix it is that you need to switch to Fullscreen instead of Borderless, but the real issue behind it is probably the same I fixed yesterday with Kingdom Come: Deliverance - I have a 1080p screen but I mostly run it at 4k resolution via Nvidia DSR (huge difference). But whether Fullscreen or Borderless - Fullscreen may fix it but the real issue behind it is that your game is running at a different resolution than your Desktop Resolution and it's probably in Borderless mode.

I switched my desktop (! not the game) back to my native 1080p for a specific pixel game because it looked better and forgot about it after that. When I launched Kingdom Come I had the same issue you describe, for me it was so bad I couldn't read the settings menu so had to find and edit the settings file but if you can somewhat make out the menu (or find a video of it to see where the options are and then you can switch to Fullscreen by "feel"). Alternatively switch to a higher resolution on your desktop and you should see everything in the game window to make your fixes.

In my case the "game window" was taking up exactly one quarter of my screen in the lower right portion, a dead giveaway that this is some 1080 vs 4k conflict. Depending on what your issue looks like you can probably reconstruct what it is.

Multi-monitor could also factor into it now that I think of it, you could try disconnecting one until you fix it but I didn't have to.

two options: a gpu driver problem or the config file is damaged.

windows key+r
%appdata%

there you find a elden ring folder open it there is a config xml file delete it, check if this fix the issue, if not you need to check the gpu driver settings for the game.

To disable the DSR option at a NVIDIA GPU, right-click your desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel". Go to "3D Settings" and find the "DSR - Factors" option. Un-select all possible settings and confirm
