Advice on twin-blades
Running a character with a pair of twin-blades with a very high arcane build for insane bleed procs (F U Malenia lol). I'm running into a lot of enemies in the dlc which don't really bleed............ which kinda sucks for me. For instance that cave leading to the 'dragon man' boss was a nightmare for this character, whereas another toon in my stable running twin katanas with frost absolutely destroyed. (He's a high INT build with lesser dex.)

And advice here ? I don't really want to blow all of my larval tears re-speccing every ten minutes. Any advice from the experts ? If something can bleed, this build absolutely rocks. If it's undead.............. slightly different story.

TIA

If the twinblades you are using are the standard weapon type (not somber), just change their affinity as necessary to exploit boss weaknesses.

One is the godskin peeler - the other is a somber weapon.

I can't just change its affinity to, say holy. That would expect me to have faith, which I do not. I guess my point is, I think I'll lose some damage that way. For example, lacking strength I really can't make the best of fire oriented ashes. Unless there's some trick I'm missing ?

The non-somber ones aren't *that* much worse, just get one and upgrade it as much as you can so you CAN change the affinity.
If you're running very high Arcane, get the Dragon Communion Seal and the bare minimum of Faith needed (you can even use the Two Fingers Talisman) to cast some of the DC incantations. Anything that won't suffer from Bleed will probably die pretty quickly to Freezing/Rotten Breath.

Nice PFP by the way.

Yep that's what I'm gonna do. Thanks.

'PFP' ? Not sure what that means.

I do have the DC seal, but I have very little faith and my fp is laughably small. Oh well, more levelling will fix that I guess.

Ah............

That's my uncle.
There's a lot of ways you can get good damage on an arcane build. Like LuckyCheshire said, dragon spells work wonders, though low fp could hold you back a bit. The basic twinblade (or godskin peeler) works great if you set it to occult and put something like Giant Hunt on it. But by far my favorite is Bloody Slash, at high arcane that just wrecks healthbars.
The only one other build that uses arcane I can think of is using dragon communion incantations. Though I'm not sure how viable that is for a boss considering how slow they are.
Otherwise, you might have to respec

I just discovered that ash as it happens. Worked incredibly well on that gaoler guy you run into in the dlc and some other incredibly tough npc's. Malenia on the other hand................ wow can that b*tch dodge a bullet or what ???

Some attacks better than others. The aforementioned Giant Hunt is basically a guaranteed hit, and it pops her up into the air, completely interrupting her.
Put Sacred Blade on a spare twinblade and pull it out whenever you need to fight undead. It does't matter that you have low faith, it will still be very strong against undead and it will prevent them from reviving.

For anything else that doesn't bleed, you can use Occult affinity for pure physical damage, or Poison if the enemy is susceptible to it.

I like it. I did use that ash on a 2h sword for another character and he absolutely melted everything in there. Worked on that undead dragon too.

I wish. It can indeed be dodged, at least by her. For non-boss NPC's, it hits virtually all of the time. She reads my mind though, the witch.
