I think the level 120-150 meta is mainly for PvP. Not sure about co-op.

I have two main characters—one at level 150 and the other at 209. Some people (myself included) stick to 150 because it’s a nice cap—not too overpowered, but still durable enough to take a few hits while allowing for various builds.

My level 209 character is more Faith/Strength-based—a tank, damage dealer, and healer in co-op. So I needed the extra levels, lol.

If you’re worried about summon times, in my experience, they’re pretty much the same at all levels. Even at much lower levels, like when first building a character up to 70-80, the wait time felt similar to what I had at 150 and 209. I did notice that I got summoned slightly faster at 209, but the difference was just a couple of minutes (like 2-3 minutes). Maybe it was just a coincidence, or maybe it depends on the time of day I play—I’m not sure.

Since the DLC dropped, I think people have generally started leveling beyond 150, reaching 171, 175, or even 179, because, as we know, everything in the DLC hits like a truck.

Also, I believe that there are a lot of players playing at levels 200-300, and even more.

I think you’re not doomed. :praisesun:

yeah that was to be expected i think, I think for a while around the first year this game launched 40 vigor (maybe a bit more) in alot of cases was kind of standard for mid to late game and then some in endurance, probably 5-10 points into mind to use your skills consistently and then rest into your main dmg stats. like I remember when most put their str/dex/int/faith/arc at 60...

but I guess with the added difficulty of the DLC i guess it's no surprise if some people push to 200 to get 60 vigor and 80 in their respective dmg stats to reach the final soft caps and ink out as much performance out of their build as possible.

Let me share my personal experience. The level of your character significantly affects the strength and stats of your companions in different playthroughs. However, the actual skill level in gameplay is inversely proportional to the difference in levels.

For example, take my level 200 character. Using a DLC boss as an example, I often get summoned to another world to help defeat the boss. It frequently happens that the host dies within less than 10 seconds after entering. Each time they go in, they unleash all their skills and attack spells immediately. The problem is that they focus 90% on attacking and only 10% on defending or dodging enemy attacks. This leads to the co-op session ending quickly because the host dies. On average, out of 10 hosts, at least 7 are like this. Because of this, I complained in the group chat that players above level 200 should wait 10 seconds before entering the boss room. If the host survives for 10 seconds, it means they're not a fool but a normal player.

On the other hand, players between levels 120-150, excluding many PvP players, mostly have the ability to defeat bosses alone. Because of this, they are very familiar and cautious with the boss's attack patterns. They are good at defending, positioning, and observing every move. However, they often encounter bosses that have been strengthened through multiple playthroughs, as they tend to be players who have completed the game 6 to 8 times.

The most skilled and intelligent players are mostly found in the 120-150 level range. The downside is that they often face high-cycle bosses with enhanced stats.

In contrast, players with an average level of 200 or higher tend to have a wide variety of attack methods and high damage output. However, most of these players have relatively poorer control skills, unless you're lucky enough to encounter those who are experts at taking no damage, which is a different story altogether.

60 was always the soft cap for VGR
Had this conversation a million times when the game came out. Might as well just do a challenge run if you're only at 40.
