Question about Bell Bearings

I am about to go into NG++ and noticed that the Twin Husks have a Ball Bearing Shop 1, 2 and 5 but no 3 or 4. Are the ball bearings that go into those slots the Merchants Ball Bearings? I have never bothered killing merchants but in an NG+ etc game that might be handy.

You can only keep 26 of the 100+ bell berings possible to collect, and no, the NPC death drops are not ones you get to keep. There is literally no point to collecting them.

There is no point in leaving merchants alive, gameplay-wise. If you go to NG+, slaughter all merchant npc's and offer their bell bearings, except Miriel.

Because you never kill Miriel, never-ever.

And numbers are basically just types of shops. 2 is only spells, 4 is consumables, 5 is dlc etc. (or some other way, don't really remember which one is which) I think

Definitely kill Miriel so you don't have to listen to an hour of boring dialogue before the Bell Bearing Hunter will appear.

There are that many? Including the DLC I guess, I don't think I even bothered with those in NG+.

There's about 62 in the base game and 10 in the DLC but not all of them carry over to NG+.
