[RESOLVED] "Frame rate unsuitable for online play"
TL;DR - A few minutes into Elden Ring (online mode) my game would drop to 1-10 FPS until the servers kicked me for "unsuitable frame rate". It happened every single time I booted.

If you have an Asus board:
disabling `USB Selective Suspend` will fix the issue, which is caused by Anticheat polling every few minutes. Post here: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/amd-600-series/x670e-usb4-and-easyanticheat-cause-stuttering/td-p/980441

If you are experiencing this issue and don't have an Asus board, you can try the above fix, or try the things I listed in the original post, below.

Thanks again to dark-breed for pointing me in the right place.

---------------------------------
Hey, all.

I just received by GPU back from an RMA. It's an MSI 4090 that had the Cablemod angle bracket melt issue.

I was excited to get back into Elden Ring, but 1-3 minutes into play my game stutters, nearly freezes, then populates a message which reads, "Frame rate unsuitable for online play. Returning to title menu."

If I don't restart the game, I'll character-load into offline mode, which is totally fine, but I only picked it back up do help a few peeps through the game who are new to Fromsoft titles.

I've done a number a things to try and fix this, but have yet to find the solution. Here's what I've tried:
- Full BIOS update
- Checked 16pin 12v plugs to ensure they're fully seated
- Turned off Integrated AMD Graphics from my CPU and prioritized the 4090
- Used DDU to uninstall all drivers and software, and reinstalled using GeForce Experience
- Set the Application to "High Performance" in System > Display > Graphics > Browse: Elden Ring.exe
- Complete reformat and windows re-install

Anybody experiencing the same issue? I have an older PC I was running the same character on and have not had this problem.

Thanks in advance. I've been at this for 8'ish hours so figured posting in here wouldn't hurt.

Hardware:
Asus X670E ProArt Motherboard
Ryzen 7900X CPU
RTX MSI 4090 Suprim Liquid

So not a e core cpu. If the problems corelate with the EAC update you could check and deactivate the dynamic powermanagement for the USB to check if this, solve the problem for anything else a deeper analysis is needed.
i've doing that, and it didnt help. And im pretty sure it's the eac. Becouse im doing fine if i diconnected to internet and dissable the eac.
and how do i use event viewer?
this eac update added only for steam OS a link to the steam client it should have technically zero effect at windows systems, that the asus hardware freak out since the same day could also be related to the silent windows update the same day or a code error in asus drivers that cause that the wakeup routine of the drivers listen now to the wrong offset because the EAC service is now bigger in memory and this way the offset arrangement changed.

the event viewer will not help much a check of the device manager for driver faults would be the first point on the list and than a full windows system check.

so what can i do now?

oh and i want to tell something maybe it can give a clue. This morning when i played the game a miracle happened. The game work just fine in online mode without any problem. I can even play the colosseum mode. And after a few hours the stuttering come back. It's like making a disable person able to walk and make him disable again

so far the RAM is not running at 3000MHz or higher with two modules it can have problems in some areas. if the problem disappeared and came back it points to a system side problem with drivers, background apps or system side setups.
siche you say you had the problem before the update it is not related to the update at all but it is not clear if the silent windows update at the same day causes the freamkout of the asus drivers.

oohh sorry for the misunderstanding. What i mean by "the day i start playing the game" is the first time i played the game, which is 7 January ago. And im sure it was after the update

WIndows key + type "event viewer" + select the Event Viewer app. You'll want to tab to "Windows Logs" then "System". You can click each event to open an information card on what's occurred. For me, the Anti-Cheat events were neither "Errors" nor "Warnings", they were successful loggings, but consistently present every time my game services crashed.
