[RESOLVED] "Frame rate unsuitable for online play"
TL;DR - A few minutes into Elden Ring (online mode) my game would drop to 1-10 FPS until the servers kicked me for "unsuitable frame rate". It happened every single time I booted.

If you have an Asus board:
disabling `USB Selective Suspend` will fix the issue, which is caused by Anticheat polling every few minutes. Post here: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/amd-600-series/x670e-usb4-and-easyanticheat-cause-stuttering/td-p/980441

If you are experiencing this issue and don't have an Asus board, you can try the above fix, or try the things I listed in the original post, below.

Thanks again to dark-breed for pointing me in the right place.

---------------------------------
Hey, all.

I just received by GPU back from an RMA. It's an MSI 4090 that had the Cablemod angle bracket melt issue.

I was excited to get back into Elden Ring, but 1-3 minutes into play my game stutters, nearly freezes, then populates a message which reads, "Frame rate unsuitable for online play. Returning to title menu."

If I don't restart the game, I'll character-load into offline mode, which is totally fine, but I only picked it back up do help a few peeps through the game who are new to Fromsoft titles.

I've done a number a things to try and fix this, but have yet to find the solution. Here's what I've tried:
- Full BIOS update
- Checked 16pin 12v plugs to ensure they're fully seated
- Turned off Integrated AMD Graphics from my CPU and prioritized the 4090
- Used DDU to uninstall all drivers and software, and reinstalled using GeForce Experience
- Set the Application to "High Performance" in System > Display > Graphics > Browse: Elden Ring.exe
- Complete reformat and windows re-install

Anybody experiencing the same issue? I have an older PC I was running the same character on and have not had this problem.

Thanks in advance. I've been at this for 8'ish hours so figured posting in here wouldn't hurt.

Hardware:
Asus X670E ProArt Motherboard
Ryzen 7900X CPU
RTX MSI 4090 Suprim Liquid

What Motherboard you have ?
Asus has actually technical problems with powermanagment Settings but it is possible other boards are also effected and you have to deactivate the powermanagement for some Motherboard components.

Asus ProArt X670E. That's interesting! Over Thanksgiving, just before my cable fused to the GPU, my motherboard stopped recognizing it. I had to do a CMOS reset to get it back up and running.

Checked Event Viewer and every time Anticheat unloads successfully it happens. This is the message "File System Filter 'EasyAntiCheat_EOSSys' (Version 6.1, ‎2023‎-‎10‎-‎25T07:48:42.000000000Z) unloaded successfully."

I would have never found this page dark-breed. Thanks so much for looking out. Going to test it now

This is just a coincidence the problem is caused by the sleepmode of the effected not in use device and the driver unload EAC want to unload the service but the sleep mode Blocks the interrupt call by EAC.
Deactivating the dynamic powermanagement mode stops the sleep mode from blocking the interrupt call.

I have no ASUS board to check if the problem is caused by a shared interrupt at board Level between the boards powermanagement and a other device or if the powermanagement has a top Level interrupt at ASUS boards that suppresses any other interrupt.

That is so wild. It worked, btw. Just played for a full 20'ish minutes no issue. Thanks, again. Updating the post with the answer in case it helps others.

Cheers, and thanks again

The thanks has to go to a other user (broekloos is his name) i talked with during the analysis of this problem, he found the asus forum thread with the solution after i told him to test if the amoury crate bios link could cause the problem, since mostly asus was effected (and some USB device drivers for headsets) he looked into the asus forum for similar problems.
I just have a eye on the problem to help ppl to notice the workaround.

It didn't really work for me:(. Indeed it reduces the stuttering, but still happen.

If you use a Asus board there are different other Controllers in use where you could check for the powermanagement related issue, so far USB devices can cause this too.
Also if you run at a high frequency monitor in borderless.

So not a e core cpu. If the problems corelate with the EAC update you could check and deactivate the dynamic powermanagement for the USB to check if this, solve the problem for anything else a deeper analysis is needed.
