Gonna base my rankings on a all content approach, so invasions, pve, coop, and and colosseum.

A lot of people are complaining about these so I would be a literal fool not to list them as number 1:

1. back hand blades - whether it is the two top tier spamable ashes of war, or the fact that their AR is so grossly above a normal 2 pound weapon...they are objectively one of the best weapons in Elden Ring.

2. Carian Regal Scepter - If fextralife counts these as weapons so do I, the sheer dmg you can pump out with an 80 intelligence build is enough to carry 3 man dlc teams. At 300 FP you never need to stop casting either, so this is objectively one of the best weapons in the game.

3. Dragon Hunter & Rakshasas - Insert your favorite great katana here because they all kill in 3 r1's in pvp, and if you don't know in a bad connection that could feel like instant death.

4. Moonveil & Rivers - love it or hate it these spam machines have defined a generation of competitive Elden Ring, and they are almost as good in pve.

5. Greatsword Of Solitutde & Damnation - It's currently the best bonk stick trade machine for two hand builds making it the best pvp greatsword. While Damnation has a vacuum instant kill in pvp which is as op as it sounds.

Anyway you slice it, while the core game still has lots of good weapon, people are complaining about players who get dropped dlc items early because dlc items make you a god compared to core game.

This is just common sense thinking.

2. Hand of Malenia for anything else that is struggling to die from #1

I can literally spam gold breaker all the way through with 0 effort both on bosses and almost all kind of enemies. Just slap 1-3 times in a row and everything dies.
This weapons made my second run easy AF.

Also Sacred Relic Sword is the best thing for farming runes.

Prince of death is stronger than carian regal if you have 80fth/80int.

For me personally, i first care about if the weapon has a fun move set, for example, i do not like stabby halberds, only the slashy ones. Then i look at the looks of the weapon, i do not use ugly.

Yes the carian thrusting shield is very meta for pvp so I've heard, like a lot of the dlc weapons they allow you to do things you couldn't otherwise.

Can we get some more basic less informed takes?
