Moonveil still viable?
So is moonveil still a good choice or did it get nerfed into oblivion?

it's viable, I went through the whole dlc with moonveil and a frost milady. at 19 scadutree fragmants I was hitting around 1500 points of damage.

1500 is on the low end of fine for such a high fragment level.

But frankly I don't really want a katana AOW to do more then that.

I'm taking my INT build through the DLC right now and the Moonveil is a pretty bad choice in most situations, you need to take a stance to use its OP wave slashes, which is usually too slow for DLC enemies, and you're gonna get smacked. The same goes for DMGS with its charged R2's, and a rebuff every 60 sec. You don't have time for that sh*t.

INT weapons I would recommend:
- Backhand Blades w/ Blind Spot AoW (very OP when Cold Infused, a single running R2 procs frostbite, and if an enemy is about to hit you, you just use Blind Spot to insta-stunlock it, charged R2's are very good as well and deal a lot of damage)
- Clayman's Harpoon w/ Giant Hunt (ol' reliable, can't go wrong with this weapon, consistently high damage, can be used with a shield, Giant Hunt flips every annoying enemy)
- Wing of Astel (I mostly use this for bosses or big enemies like furnace golems, the AoW deals stupid damage to them)
- Stone Club (drops from battle mages just outside Loretta's arena in Haligtree, best strike weapon for INT builds hands down, very high DPS, beat many bosses with it, 3 shots the stone golems in the ruined forges)
- Milady w/ Wing Stance, very fun to use but poise damage is meh
- Great Katana w/ Overhead Stance, very strong but a bit clunky to use, YMMV
- Twinned Knight Swords (the best twinblade for an INT build, put Loretta's Slash on it and it's really great for clearing mobs. The AoW has infinite hyperarmor and does a lot of poise damage, completely trivializing some really annoying enemies like the Fire Knights)

You should also use the new Two Handed Sword talisman with most of these weapons, that's +15% damage right there.

Curious about a couple of your recommendations. Why do you say Stone Club is good for INT build when it scales from STR and DEX?

Also, does Wing of Astel really do more damage than Moonveil? I remember comparing them early on when I got them both and while I liked the weapon it just felt worse to use like I missed a lot with the effect on it or it was sluggish or something (been a while so I forget the details) so I stuck with Moonveil. I have since fully upgraded Moonveil so I guess my question is whether I should upgrade Wing of Astel to max and give it another try?

Stone Club is a regular upgrade path weapon, it can scale with anything. But it scales with INT particularly well resulting in about 800 AR with the Magic affinity on the standard 80 INT build.

Wing of Astel's AoW spawns multiple hitboxes which shreds large enemies like dragons and Furnace Golems or bosses like Metyr and Bayle.
