You need to defeat 2 bosses from the main game to access it and i would recommend to start the DLC after you beat the main game with all Remembrance bosses

Hmmm. Beat the main game content first, this should put you in better place to start the expansion.

Explore, enjoy everything the main game has to offer just take your time and have fun and of course fear not, killing the final boss will not lock you to enter the expansion.

You need to beat an endgame boss to access the DLC so it doesn't really matter as you can't accidentally stumble into the DLC at early levels.

no, because dlc much more difficulty, get it if you atleast clear the game.

play through the base game first i think is a good idea. it is phenomenal, but the dlc's design on every front is better esp. the dungeons and verticality of the land, i.e. this leads to amazing exploration. you might not enjoy the base game as much if you play halfway through the base game do the dlc then come back to the base game to finish it.

I'd recommend playing through the game a first time before bothering with the DLC. The DLC completely ruins the pace and balance of the base game as by the time you finish the DLC you'll be extremely overleveled for a new game playthrough.

Play through the base game and ensure you like it before picking up SOTE. You can't even access it until you beat a particular endgame boss, so you've got time.

thanks, i guess i finish the main game first
The end of the game is when you defeat the last base game boss. Although the leveling mechanism and quests are completely divided (except you have to defeat two base game bosses to enter the DLC), if I would have the possibility, I'd leave the burning of the tree (in the base game) for last.

I recently moved to pc for the DLC. What I did was try to defeat both Radhan & Mohg as early as possible then move to the DLC to get some starting new weapons (a lot can be taken without fighting any major bosses), then use those weapon for the Main Game. I ended up using Great Katana, Light Greatsword, and Backhand Blade to finish the Main Game bosses and beat until Ending selection. After that, I returned to the DLC to continue and finish it.

The DLC is post main game content, and for a casual first run of the game the boss that gates the DLC is pretty much third to last / one of two optional post-game bosses

You should not get the DLC at all.

You can wait on the DLC, play the thru the base game first... if you like it, after beating it, then get the DLC.

I don't know what you decided, but I suggest starting with both games and just going where the world takes you.

I think you should beat every remembrance boss in the main game at least first. Once you have beaten them all, then you're ready for the DLC.
