There's nothing like the first time. Everything's new, everything's unexplored and things take you by surprise.

Once you know all the secrets, it's just a checklist of tasks.

And a whole lot of dead air due to how long it takes to get everywhere the first time.

Easily 2 hours of pure torrent riding in a play though with nothing interesting going on.

ER is the only FS game where I did a second playthrough with a new char directly after the first one, exploring everything on the map again. First one was an astrologer, second one was a hero barbarian who also used bows and crafting. So it doesn't depend on what other ppl say - it depends on what's fun for you. If you haven't played Dark Souls yet, DS 3 is the closest one in gameplay and style. It may make more sense to start at DS1, but just note that DS1 and DS2 are much slower paced games. Each one plays a little differently.

Already done Dark souls 3 years ago, so now i'm really struggle to choose to either succomb to the need to create an astrologer and simp for ranni or start dark souls 1

Make themed builds. After your 1st playthrough, check the wiki and look what kind of stuff you might want to use on the next character.

I made myself a list of themes to play.
Right now it's a Dark Knight, using Knights Greatsword (STR infused), wearing the Royal Remains set minus the helmet. Late game switching to Helphens Steeple and Night's Cavalry set.

Magic is not as easy and boring as ppl say based on personal playstyle preferences and also if you don't go and immediately get a good staff etc. If you go through the game in the regular order you will face some different challenges, such as balancing HP/mana and some mobs jumping in your face. The reward at the end is the ability to just burn down some mobs and bosses. Just try it out without doing a run for powerful items/spells at the beginning - just play.

Ppl here are talking about 2nd playthroughs with different, new character concepts. I would assume we are not talking about just respeccing.
