please make the new horned bairn faster....

the omen bairns in the base game hit like a truck with some good holy dmg and with some serious as ♥♥♥♥ range with also A LOT of poise dmg with how many hits they do and are worth the fp cost but this needs to get a dmg buff, a speed buff, and an fp cost reduction still to make it basically cost the same and speed as the greatblade phalanx while doing the same dmg but as holy. honestly sucks that this one was so poorly thought out and just given the same animation as the original bairns.

New horned bairn is much better damage-wise and has less projectiles than Regal Omen bairn while having half the Fp cost, it is good as bairns go

imma do some testing just to see then on a deeper level on this cause every time i tried using both on a 60th/60int build, the omen bairns do more dmg, can go WAY further and also are far more likely to hit due to their better tracking and most of all, actually make good and efficent use of their fp cost while the horned bairn does pitiful dmg and misses more often than it hits with worse tracking and range and thusly most of its fp cost into whatever dmg each projectile has at its best scaling meaning nothing and being a waste more often than not in pve at least and i dont even wanna think about how bad it would be in pvp especially when there is a far better and far less resisted version in the greatblade phalanx and carian phalanx both doing magic dmg which has FAR less that has good absorptions against it, cast WAY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FASTER, and flat out do more dmg again based on my having used both and seen pitiful results with the horned bairn.

Well considering bairns in general are meme items and are not very good at PvE (like most tools actually) you better use them in either meme builds or low-level builds. At low level my horned bairn does most damage, at 60/60 Int/Fth other bairns may be better I doubt they will ever be your best damage option. Tools are not for people with high investments, they are for people who have no stats to use more superior option. Considering PvP, well, most people can dodge all bairns easily so yeah. Also to maximize damage from Omen bairns you need 4 pieces of a missable heavy set, to max dmg of Horned bairn you need one light garb you cannot miss. I'd say Horned for low levels, Omen for high (and then again, you are better off just casting Phalanxes if you have the stats)

Oh and one more for the horned bairn - it can combo like phalanxes, unlike Omen bairns since you cannot attack when projectiles fire. So if you lack INT or the ash and for some reason wanna do DS3-like combos Horned bairn is your best bet. Cast it, then go up close and combo

thats the main point tho, if its cast speed and fp cost was AT LEAST at the level of the baby version of carian phalanx which i think was called the glintblade phalanx than i wouldnt have any problems with it but the fact it cant even do that AND is holy dmg AND has ♥♥♥♥ poise dmg all make it so there is less than no reason to use it and it makes the wooden plank shield seem like a top tier shield.......

I only really used it when I cosplayed Hornsent so yeah. I guess they make tools weak because otherwise they would be too op since they can be used by any build even at RL1. And wooden plank in ER is actually the best shield for parrying or ashes like Holy Ground/Vow of the Indomitable bc it only weights 1

2 things with the first is that it being holy dmg means that it already would be weaker on a base level with how much holy resistance goes around and second, its not hard to make it just as bad for rl1 characters by making it have worse scaling than the CRS, LGS, and PDS staves meaning it would do EVEN LESS dmg but at least be as fast and maybe even a little bit cheaper especially since it cant have its cost reduced by the primal glintstone blade or carian filigree crest.
