Hyetta's quest. Can I finish it without killing Edgar?

He apparently drops one of the Shabriri Grapes, but a +8 Halberd comes with it, which I don't want on this character since it's capped at +3/+1.

Does this mean I'm locked out of Hyetta's quest? Is there no way to get his eye without the halberd?

Why do you need to do Hyetta's quest? I don't think it's needed for the ending.

I try to do every side quest I can for one-of-a-kind items and gestures.

You cannot. There are 3 shabriri grapes and all 3 of them are required to progress the quest. One of them is drop from Edgar. You are missing out on frenzied flame seal.

Eh, whatever. Sucks for healing anyway, Finger Seal seems to be the best at +3.

Just need to make sure not to mark it on my tracker then. I haven't gone to see Irina after the boss so I'm hoping Edgar isn't flagged as an invader now. I'd rather just keep him out of my game entirely.

As Darkstorm mentioned, no. Unlike Rogier's Rapier (when he dies in the chair) which drops to the ground and you can loot the other stuff and avoid it, the weapon from Edgar goes directly into your inventory. Other than those two weapons don't kill patches for his weapon (which I'm sure you probably didn't). Those are the only three to worry about, iirc.

blind girl that shows up behind stormveil castle if you helped/killed irina. she asks for "grapes" a few times and eventually shows up where you unlock one of the endings and becomes your maiden.

Sadly no, which is a shame since FF seal is the best for low-level builds and is weightless, too. You probably gotta need a drop from a friend

My question is if you are limiting yourself for whatever reason to only have +3 or +1 for the matchmaking, why the ♥♥♥♥ do you care about doing questlines? If it is for a specific item, just get someone to drop you it.. I swear no one has a brain cell

no, once you attain a new upgrade level (either through actual upgrading or finding something) you are permanently set to that tier in regards to matchmaking even if you get rid of said weapon.

Gestures? Other items/consumables I can use that are limited in quantity? Armor sets?

I'm also a hoarder and go out of my way to loot everything.
