Does this count as a cheese or viable strategy?
I kept stomped by the Bell-Bearing Hunter but then discovered as he spawns in you can got into stealth and hide in the bushes. Then slowly creep behind him undetected and use poison-mist to kill him. It would take 1-2 casts of the incantation to infect him, and it took about 4 rounds of the ticking damage to wear off. Less than 200 FP points worth in total!

If this is already widely known thing, apologies, I just felt joy when I did it and wanted to share! :er_heart:

Who cares about how you kill Bell Bearing Hunters?

Yup, obvious cheese, but whatever. I don't think anyone cares. You can do the same thing with Commander O'Neil.

Probably won't work in every instance of a Bell Bearing Hunter as there's probably not a place to hide for all of them.

I personally like bullying them with parries. They got real easy timing on their swings.

to be fair your asking a question that is gonna get the gatekeepers to crawl out of the woodworks.

there is no wrong way to play a video game, if it works it works, so in a sense, it doesn't matter how you kill the bell bearing hunter.

By the way the developers gave hitable spawn time to the hunters, strategies like this are probably even encouraged by design.

if the boss couldn't even reach or detect you, then yeah it's cheese, but well... who cares aside from yourself ?

sounds like an oversight, getting promoted to "feature"

In the immortal words of Throthgar; the game is out to cheat you, so nothing you do back is cheating :)

That also works on the Tree Sentinel that is guarding the entrance to the capital. Who cares. Sometimes the dirty strategies are the most satisfying ones.

Yep, it's well-known that Poison Mist can cheese a lot of field bosses (and even some fog-gated bosses). But kudos for discovering it on your own.

The game is perfect for cheese. A.I wanna cheats your rolls so you get to cheese their rolls.. or something. I dunno. Only the cunning survive. I salute your cheese and may even use it later, borrowed cheese.

Cheese for everyone!

I killed Blaidd this way when he was sitting on the steps of Ranni's tower. Since he was a friend who had clearly lost his mind, I thought it was kinder to euthanize him painlessly with poison instead of chopping him up into dog chow. He was a good boy.
