What should i do ?

Ive stopped playing since 2023 and now i return .. i got good equipment and lots of items but i dont Know where id need to go or even have the skills to fight in the area i am in now?

I really dont want to restart but id like to somehow trace back my steps and build from there.

So what do people usually do when having left the game for a while and now come back to it ?

I for one have no issue with wiping a save and starting fresh, especially if it's been 6+ months since the last time I booted up the game in question. Elden ring was no different, no hesitation on wiping my NG+ character with nearly every spell and weapon in the game to begin again fresh for the DLC.

Definitely need to know roughly where you are to point you in a direction. But seeing as this is Elden Ring, could also just pick a direction and wander off. Exploration and all that. Eventually you'll stumble across something you were looking for.

I like to place signs on the map so for example if I have beaten a boss somewhere I place down a sword sign at that spot or if it´s a place I have just visited to collect loot I place down the walk sign. This way I can quickly see what I have done with a character because I have multiple safegames with differently build characters and the signs allow me to quickly see what I have done with each one of them.

Im in Leyndell ... i dont know how far it is from the end ...(tbh i dont really want to reach any end just now)

Its also an Old Build which worked VERY well back then and may not be good now.

To clarify this Character is old ... like Before Radahn-patch old


The build was effective .. its Gogiers rapier +17 and Bloody slash on a dex build.

Yes, leyndell is not the end of the game, far from it.

After defeating the king of leyndell, someone will visit you and give you your new objective. For now, since you're just coming back to the game, i suggest going back and exploring areas you might not have before to grow re-accustomed to the game.

After defeating the king of leyndell, someone will visit you and give you your new objective. For now, since you're just coming back to the game, i suggest going back and exploring areas you might not have before to grow re-accustomed to the game.

This is the perfect thread answer and all i can do is to mention you should try to enter the Erdtree after killing the king. Then go to the Erdthrone grace to continue with the game with the key to unlock a new area.

Okay i was just thinking .. since ive uncovered alot of the map already except the top right i was in Endgame area.

DOnt get me wrong i played through Darks souls Five times, Darks souls II 4 times and dark souls 3 around 3 times. i was just a bit worried that this is gonna be it.

You still have a lot of content left and a HUUUUGEEE difficulty spike so get ready to get facerolled! (have fun!).

Also check Lurnia, LImgrave, Altus and Gelmir just in case you missed some interesting thing.

Leyndell has a really fun dex weapon as well, make sure to get up on top of that giant spear stuck in a building before you leave (some janky platforming required but you can reach it from below). The weapon skill has the longest projectile range in the game, just don't use it near a ledge.
