Help me find a build for a fun quick pre-run for DLC
Hello,

I never used a guide for Elden Ring yet, thus still missing stuff according to Steam Achievements. Since I am through the game 3? times, I want to do a clean run for the DLC but I have never played in a "good" way. I just switched weapons and arts to just what I found was funny, cool and worked. But probably never anything that was appropriate to my stats.

So I wanna try to play on a more streamlined build. I had quite a lot fights that really gave me bad struggles, but mostly different bosses than the masses struggled with, except for Tree-Beast in the first area and Malenia which REALLY were so bad I needed help from a friend.

I really do loved some of the magics and summons in the game as they take a lot of pressure off of you, most beloved was the Mimic Tear.

But I wanna try something more melee focused for the new run but also something safe as I am not much of a good player and can't remember much of boss patterns because of a very bad short-term memory.

I am too dumb to parry/block

If you have any nice idea that makes a new run fun, not into any challenges tho, it would be nice if you might have "pre-build" thingy too (what fits the end build while going for it).

Maybe something that does some real damage. Most of my tries ended up being just bee stings against enemies unless I was highly overleveled which was not always too much of a fun but might have been just wrong stats allocation.

thank you!

I don't mind if something is "OP" or stuff. I just wanna have fun preparing for the DLC.

Unga Bunga is as welcome as magic slinging stuff. Don't need "don't use this or that"-Challenges. not a good player by any means.

for my first and currently only run i rocked the "rock sling" with meteorite staff. Awesome for us who don't have the IQ to block/parry.
That later on mixed with dark moon greatsword made everything fairly easy. Even managed to bonk malenia to her death with mimic tear and dark moon greatsword!

That's Stuff I used too. Loved how magic works.

Any other ideas too?
But please with some stats to go for as I really wanna do one run that really is useful. I would probably spend again points on stuff that won't help or make me use less stats for what is needed to.

If you want a really straightforward smash-stuff-until-it-stops-moving-and-then-smash-a-bit-more you can put frost on the morningstar in Weeping Peninsula. Works on pretty much everything in some aspect and is relatively quick.

Any of the greatswords are quite good, although I really like the moveset of Helphen's Steeple and Dark Moon is also a really good, if also late game, pickup. Both work well for spellcasting characters.

Twinblades can be picked up right at the start of the game and are solid for dex builds. St. Trina's sword can also be picked up really early if you start with a Stonesword key and is quite powerful throughout the game.

I can understand having trouble with parry timing but if you can't block then you're going to have a hard time. Getting a 100% physical shield and learning to block and guard counter will offer the safest sort of character to play, and if you're going to go without a shield then you need to understand enemy patterns and how your weapon works really well.

Ya I know it's hard, as stated, played through 2 times (dunno if I finished ng+3 or not) and I tried multiple times to parry stuff but I am too dumb to understand when an attack is actually hitting or not, especially not with faster bosses. So I just rolled until I managed to attack.
Even never new about "Heavy Attack" or heavy jumping attack and that this is a thing. just played.

A weapon I thought about trying was "the great stars" that looked kinda cool.

I would also be kinda interested in some big 2 handed unga bunga but I am afraid of being too slow to properly attack.

But how would I put my stats to properly use this? And what would I use before getting my hands on it as its quite "late"
