DLC new classes?
Is it just new weapons and standalone content? Do we know for certain?

I always felt like the starting classes were a bit on the weak side in terms of diversity logistics. Maybe I am wrong, but I sure would love to be surprised with a new handful of starting classes that let you start a new character as a martial artist or as a Perfume Bottler from the jump, for example.

Idk if they'd add new classes, most people go with that Samurai starter anyway. In the end it doesn't matter since you can use whatever you want if you are a high enough level. Unless you trying to min max to be a lower level for pvp or something. If it's easy to get said weapons you can do a "secret starter class" so to speak like that one dude does on their yt channel.

Overall I wouldn't expect a new starter class but if they throw one in it will surprise everyone. But it's mainly just a new area to explore with tons of weapons and bosses to fight to add to the already existing challenge to the game.

Edit: Now that I think of it you gotta kill Mohg and Radahn to get in the dlc so you can't really call it a "starter class". Unless that fall off the map spot still kills Mohg but even then idk.
I just don’t see why the DLC can’t also add on new classes for NGs moving forward post purchase. I’m not aware of this YT channel with a secret start class.

Doesnt that only effect things if you dont plan on levelling past a certain point though?
Depends on the point of leveling. Naturally the fault grows as the character does, but it’s always happening. Just negligible at first.

Yeah, this is only really important if you wanna stop at a certain level like so 125 or 150, those 3 to 5 extra points, can really help

Do the classes even really matter in this game?

TLDR: Technically, yes. Generally, no.

If you are going to be one build for said character, you will pick the class that lets you min max your atts perfectly and not miss out on those few point placements.

If you know you’re gonna respec a ton And try a bunch of builds, you’d want Wretched. You will miss out on a perfect attribute min/max, but only by a few points, but you are forever versatile for that character.

Problem is, some classes get left behind and there isn’t a ton of flavor with them. There are mods that create a bunch of cool ranging classes that would be nice if they were official
if youre worried about min maxing, just pick wretch. incase you havent noticed, they start level 1 with all stats at 10 meaning no under leveled stat, and while other starting classes might have 12 or 15 in your fav stat, youre also level 20 or so. thats 19 different points you could of invested instead. , take samurai with lets just say 20 dex, by level 20 on wretch, youd have 29 instead.

so like others have said. starting classes arent even classes. theyre just gear/stat starts.

Yes, Wretch is debatable the best class, thats what my primary is as I played every FromSoft souls like so I knew on launch to pick it, but some other classes have sub 10 stats and if you are going to lock into a lane, it misses out on min maxing by a few points depending... was my point. I couldnt tell if they were genuinely asking or not

Thats.... just a Samurai class speed build he re-titled as "secret class" for extra views. Its a build, not a class.

I will take a Jar Launcher build tho looool

Yeah, Tulok aka Phil, secret starting class vids are just a gimmick name for his series of Videos, for Cosplay builds you don’t need to fight a boss normally to get the stuff. It’s just for fun.

Yo I just saw a light greatsword moveset and it's addressed 100% of my criticisms of greatswords from WMA/HEMA standpoint - enjoy everyone

This is not *list of games* you mean
Konno Saeko Jun 17, 2024 @ 12:32pm
I know that its not really a "starting class" I'm just saying you can technically start the game any way you want you just have to pick an existing starter class and rush the gear you want. You in theory have dozens of "starter classes" that you can beat basically the entire game with.
Vox Maximus Jun 17, 2024 @ 12:37pm
This game has no "classes"
