Was wondering whats the opinion surrounding this weapon?

Its been long since it got its (well deserved) nerf, and even got a slight buff at one point if i recall.

The reputation of this thing is likely beyond saving, but i wonder what people though about it in its current state.

Personally, i think its an ok weapon, not too strong or weak, just viable.

because its easy to use, the most thing i hate about it was the poise damage from the ranged attack, but now its kinda tame.

Arcane is really fun because you can use anything and Skill abuse is also really fun. Rivers is not as economical as Reduvia, but with the right gear, it's like casting spells for free. Rivers has an enormous mid-range spray and it's lots of fun in PVE, whether or not it's as busted as it was originally

It's... still definitely in the upper third power-wise of weaponry, and I have no surprise when I see people using it. It's not as overused as Moonveil or Gut's GS or Nagakiba though. Meh. Just... meh.

In PvP most folks seem to know the dodge cadence by heart at this point. Been a long time since someone has come at me with this.

Not actually true on that second bit.

Cause the weapon alongside other Arcane scaling weapons were literally broken on launch and borderline useless cause of it lol.

Well it got the sticker "noobstick" on it forever due to the prior occurrences....

Remarkably if you invade you will still find lots of gankers using it in L2-L2-L2-L2 style so the sticker is appropriate to the present day in some sense.

As of the weapon - its solid, gives good bleed and AoW is far from useless or weakest, just need to use it in a right time.

It's absolutely okay now. I still won't use it because unfortunately I cannot disassociate it from White Mask L2 spamming Noobs.

It really is overrated, it isn't the best at anything it does, it's a mid weapon, not terrrible but nothing great either. Personally i'd say pick Nagakiba and put blood blade on it if you want a RoB that has around 96 bleed, and has much more utility.

I've just respec'd a str/fth to arcane with 1:1 dex and faith - Occult Nagakiba with Seppuku or Cragblade is just all-around better. If I want Double Slash I can put it on, but I'd rather have the weapon buff since you can't apply buffs to Occult weapons normally, otherwise.

Nagakiba has a lot of different ways you can spec it out, one of the many reasons it's objectively better than RoB, I like blood blade for the options it gives me. I can choose CQC, ranged blood slashes, or if I feel like taking a risk i'll use the blood slashes at close range and get the double hits.
