Poor excuse. By the time you get to Mohg, you can't possibly be considered a "new" player. It's a late game boss, and you should have figured out how the game works by then.
But even if you miss the crystal tear, it's not that huge of a deal. Nihil eats up what, two flasks? You get so many by that point one would think you are either going to kill him or he'll kill you way before you get to use them all.
Alright, I stand corrected.
Pretty impressive for newbies to get there with subpar stats.
But if From put the access of the DLC here, it's probably to filter them out and telling them to learn the game first.
Or equal repartion in all stats. Had a build like that, it's pretty interesting as you're spending the game underpowered but still have access to a lot of stuff.
Definitively not something I'd recommand for a new player to do tho.
I really like this kinda run, it's also a solid way for someone who is good at these games to do their 1st playthrough, it means you get to try SO much stuff.
Not gonna be using the high-end sorceries etc., but you get previews of every kinda stat you may wanna build around next character.
I personally do always go pure melee 1st playthrough though, focusing on a giant weapon with wide sweeps.
If an area is particularly easy, though, that's when I give other less upgraded weapons a try.
I like to put my build and setup to the test across the whole game to see it's strengths, weaknesses and particular challenges, but if it's one of the now abundant easy areas anyway, that's also when I mess around with the now abundant respecs to try even more stuff.
If you use Small Golden Effigy and send sign far you can't be summoned there.
You must place sign down with Tarnished's Furled Finger, same as for Placidusax.
The tear doesn't even let you dodge it, it just nullifies it entirely. Talk about cheated.
