Until the dlc comes out, i want to play with the new weapons and make builds for them, i want to use the beast claws weapon, no idea how it will scale, where to get it, or if i will even like it. (likely will as i liked the beast claw in bloodborne).

If the beast claw scales off strength, i can start a build with fist weapons, if it is dex, i can start a build by using claws. But for now i wait to see what i need to do, how to plan my next build.

Just make the builds now in anticipation. You have plenty of time to make a couple and if needed, get some tears so you can resepc.

Do you really want to start brand new and have to start fresh and get through Mohg to play the DLC or do you want to play the DLC on release day?

My main save is ready to enter, A completed crucible knight build STR/FTH (did not start that way), A Really fun build.

If the new weapon types will be only find-able in the dlc i will likely not bother making a new build just for the new weapons.
