Can't find D after going to the church of vows

Accidentally hit D with the wave of gold during the boss fight with the mariner and he started attacking me, so ran away, fast traveled to the Church oft Vows and got rid of my sin, but when I went back he is nowhere to be found (not even at the Round Table)

Nope, checked there first. Heck was surprised he came running in as I sent out the wave of gold to kill the boss and got hit head on. He did not do that in my first playthrough from what i recall
