Just encountered a cheater who tried to crash my pc...

I was co-oping with some pals when suddenly this dude invades, appears out of thin air next to us performs the snap gesture and we all instant die to madness followed by his performing graphical spam in an attempt to crash my computer, my game glitched out thanks to him but it looks like no lasting damage was done...

WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ DO COMPANIES KEEP ON USING THIS POS ANTI-CHEAT ENGINE WHEN IT DOES NOTHING AND GETS CRACKED MERE HOURS AFTER IT GETS AN ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ UPDATE?!

But since you created this thread tell the people in wich area/grace this happened. Did this happened in Haligtree roots?

Also, i'm assuming by his attempt to crash my pc, he was attempting to prevent that very thing from occurring, sadly i do not have any software active that can record past footage on my games or pc running at that time.

Game crashing hackers.... I've had that happen a few times. just block them and move on. the elden ring community can be pretty scummy but hackers are still quite rare.

So far i encountered people using poison knives to instant death blight
Got teleported into a cage in castle mourne but that was months ago
And oh yeah particle effects spam in an attempt to crash the game

the most frustrating part about the issue of cheating in souls pvp is that individuals in the community essentially fixed the issue youre talking about - spawning tons of bullets to crash someones game, as well as tons of other potential cheats, by creating cheat engine scripts you could run or mods you could install.

so preventing these kinds of cheats are so easy that hobbyist level modders can fix it, however, EAC prevents players from implementing their own fixes, while still offering ways to bypass it that are generally to much trouble for average, honest players to go thru to protect themselves from the rare cheater, but is totally doable for dedicated cheaters.

extremely unfortunate situation. really, all the game needs for this kind of stuff are simple sanity checks.

jeeze that sounds awful, I've seen streamers have their dark souls saves completely corrupted by people like that... imagine having a graphics card destroyed OMG i would never play multiplayer again

The hack bot just interrupted my invasion sessions to show me how a teleport camera feature would be scripted in the elden ring's graphic engine.


Thing even is, I had already killed the blue phatom before it even ran it's stupid kill game script.

I just crashed the game and waited for steam to roll back save, seemed to save me a soft ban.

Either way-- I had once constructed a great catapult, that had been fitted to load red-lit xbox360's into the payload. .. so, there's that

You can't get your hardware destroyed or save corrupted. It's just stupid shenanigans by sad little kids

Cheaters have a history of filling people's inventories with cheated story items, essentially bricking their save and preventing them from playing online.
