L1 Button (Guard) doing L2 Action (Weapon Skill)

Weird problem I've been having that I haven't seen discussed anywhere else. For some reason, when I press the guard button on my PS4 dualshock controller, it activates my weapon skill. The input menu says guard is mapped to L1. The controller is not the problem, I have tested it with a few fighting games and the L1 button works fine and throws out the correct move in those games. If I run around using keyboard/mouse, I can guard with right click. Can't see anyone discussing this anywhere, was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Im having the same issue. Even when I try and remap it the game defaults my LB to LT. Seems like an issue from an update to elden ring. Steam big picture registers everything fine and like you said other games work no issue. Prolly just gunna have to wait on a patch. :C

Update***
So i got it fixed in my game. I went into steam big picture and disabled steam input then reactivated it.
Then i clicked on the "Current button layout for elden ring" and pressed the apply button on the prompt that popped up.
This worked right away for me in game didnt need to restart or anything. Hope this helps!
