checklist for losers?
Hi guys, Dark Souls 3 is the only souls game I managed to complete (with a lot of help). Now giving this one a try!
But I am overwhelmed... Is there a checklist of the most important locations I should go to and the most important NPCs/items I should find?
It would break immersion, but I need it!!! I know of the different interactive maps out there - but they are cluttered with too many secondary locations.
What I need is a todolist: do a, b, c, d, etc. and then you should manage to get through the game.
Thanks.

You don't need to strictly follow this, explore on your own.

If you encounter enemies or boss that seems too tough for you
go somewhere else, level up, upgrade your weapons and return later.

There are a 6 overarching questlines going on that are parallel to the main story, all of which are accessible almost from the start. Basically, if you do not want to get spoiled, thorougly do the first area, limgrave and weeping peninsula and you'll more or less get hooked into all the questlines naturally. It should also naturally get you all the legendary equipments, although you might miss them simply due to not looking for them.

early on I think one of the most important things you can do is find upgrade materials for your weapon. There's a lot of them just laying around in various places but they can be hard to find your first time through the game. It's easier to just buy them which you can do after finding the bell bearings. Smithing Stone bell bearings 1 & 2 are pretty easy to get and I don't think you even need to fight any of the main bosses.

There's a Critical Path walkthrough, easy to follow but can "spoil" the game if you want a more thorough play through.

Explore all of Limgrave, do/clear all the small dungeons and locations like once, do the same with the Weeping Peninsula to the South, then you should be ready for Stormveil Castle. And also will have an idea on how to progress by yourself. Also make sure to try out all the different weapons and game mechanisms you come across, including crafting and summoning spirits. This will give you a tool basket to deal with the game and also allow you to influence game difficulty. Most importantly: Have fun!
