This glitch is called a Wrong Warp. If you're the casual nerdy type and want to know how it works: Basically, force-quitting in that sweetspot makes the game abort after it forgot your character's position but before it wrote in the new destination, causing it to default to the local area's default spawnpoint. For example, if you try this in Siofra River, the default spawnpoint is located up in Nokron in front of the Mimic Tear boss, so you can use this glitch to skip killing Radahn to gain access.
If you do this, you will be able to complete the game as usual, but you will not be able to traverse backward to the Mountaintops for any of the bosses, dungeons, or treasure located there, or in Consecrated Snowfield or the Haligtree since there's no way to reach those places except through the Mountaintops without crazy-precise speedrunning tech.
Hope this helps!
Unfortunately your save was damaged by malicious player, most likely invader.
This is why you should always manually backup your save.
Especially if you have interactions with other players.

PS. when a modder does that to your game, it will normally crash your game and when you reload- if you are unsure, check your map and the volcano quest markers will all exist even if you have yet to discover the location, this means your playthrough is slugged. keep an eye out for the "?Network Error?" message. thanks again all who helped.
