The struggles of 5120 x 1440 resolution...
I'm having a hug struggle playing this game on my G9. Flowless Widescreen sometimes works and some times it doesn't, as a result most of the time I'm experiencing this game in such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ almost square shaped resolution which feel so unfair for this game.

Anyone knows any other workarounds that don't require some 3rd party app co-running with the game like Flowless Widescreen?
Maybe some sort of config file tweaking or permanent mod that can be installed in the game?

no, the config files are encrypted to deter people from cheating

Fromsoft have never been great with fully supporting PC players and ultrawide is another example of that. You can find plenty of fixes (as above) but they pretty much all seem to involve disabling EAC so you cant play online.

This is why I looked at getting an ultrawide but ultimately decided against it - unsupported without mods in games I like and you're SOL with many older games
I'm fine with playing offline instead of playing in a resolution as wide as a frying pan to be honest...

Same. I decided to spend the difference in price on a VR headset lmfao. Haven't had any issues with my 2k 144hz monitor aside from games not being optimized well enough to reach the framerates (or being capped in ER's case).

It was actually really hard to find a large monitor that wasn't curved or ultrawide, it seems that anything big is almost always one or both of those. In the end I settled for a 43" 144Hz 4k monitor which I wasn't overly fond of at first but I love it now.

I had a VR headset anyway but it collects dust as I never use it lol...

But yeah, the amount of issues I see people have with ultrawide as far as compatibility goes is a real turn off for me. Shame as I think they are a cool idea and probably really immersive when they are supported

4k is overrated

thats why no one buys 5k for gaming u got 5k 5140:1440 pixels so imagine how stretched it is, buy something higher without less pixels for horizontal since by logic u have too much pixels in vertical to look good/normally with that less of horizontal...
RemiW Oct 15, 2023 @ 3:37pm
either buy normal 4k which is the best display supported rn and affordable or get 6-8k displays that are so expensive u wont think about it :)

That’s 32:9 1440p, not 5k.

No it isn't.

I think 1440p is the sweet spot between power needed to run and graphical fidelity and in 2023 1440p 144Hz monitors are so cheap there has never been a better time to dump 1080p.

Either way not even sure why you responded with that anyway, as the point is ultrawide has support issues with certain games and lot of old games.

almost all games support 21:9 and if they not you can easily force them to do so.

Many don't... such as this game or Dead by Daylight and most older games. Many of us do not want that kind of hassle (or curved monitors). As I said, I actually like the concept of ultrawides but the reality is they can be a hassle.

Again, not even sure what your point is here, as almost all doesn't equal all games and older games almost all don't and will suffer weird stretching issues if you try to force them to

No they aren't (see I can do that too but where does that get us?).

I mean, what is the point of that statement? That isn't an objective fact, that is just an opinion. I feel like you are just trolling with stupid responses at this point so I may just end up ignoring and blocking.
