Is Rykard's sword still the most OP in the game?

I'm about to start the DLC and I'll go with this weapon in hopes of replacing it.

OP is relative. It's still very good for people who don't want to bother with using more than one button though. There have always been more interesting options to do the same things, but Taker's Flames is still very powerful, yes.

I currently used it a fair bit on my latest char. i'd say it's definitely still very strong, the AoW is still very potent in general, it's costly and take a couple second going off, so not the best against fast bosses, but for general exploration and groups clearing it's top tier.

When it comes to Strenght/Faith weapons, i found the Magma Wyrm's Scalesword is a lot better when it comes to pure DPS, both from raw attacks and unique AoW.

there's no ''most op'', there are a bunch of S tier weapons that you could call the strongest but there isn't just one above them all

ok guys, im really "new player" in the world of the souls games. And i was thinking if it's there a "best weapons". This comments leave me the things more clearly. thanks you

The truth is that I play more for the beauty and art of the weapons than for their damage. If there is a weapon that I like more, its mobility and skills set, but it does little damage compared to another. I don't care, I won't use the one that does more damage.

Op any weapons are viable so like you said yourself.just go with what you like or what seems fun and make your build around that weapon

Many would argue it's one of the best weapons in the game, maybe even the best weapon art. If you want to be the most effective with it, put 80 points into faith, and grab the Erdtree seal at the Volcano Manor as well. The weapon art scales with faith, and this will also give to access to good incantation dmg. Equip the finger print shield in the other arm and you are basically indestructible.
