Fire damage scales with Faith.
Bleeding does not scale.
12 Faith is enough for this prayer to be effective, no need to increase more.
Faith only increases the fire damage, which isn't much.
Bloodflame deals 40 bleed buildup over 2 seconds per attack. This does not increase with either Faith or Arcane scaling, and since the fire damage is pretty minimal, it's not worth dumping points into faith just to increase it for this skill alone.
As per the recommendations in the link, you should ideally use Bloodflame on an infusable weapon with native bleed. Personally, I find Hookclaws to be some of the best to use with Bloodflame.
High VIG and high defense go together because most PvP encounters involve invasions and nearly all invasions are going to be 2v1 or 3v1.
High poise helps you tank attacks without flinching.
Hyper armor increases your poise and temporarily increases defense. Useful for winning hit trades. Bigger weapons tend to have more attacks with hyper armor.
Your average fellow Tarnished tends to be weakest to piercing and lightning. At low levels you can add in fire.
