New to Discussions, where to look for Mods please
Self explanatory, i dont use forums or discussions, so ive not idea how to navigate or even understand what im looking at, where to look, what to expect, etc. I know plenty of mods exsist but ive never used any and clearly have no clue where to look, or what im even looking for to know its good

please help? Help, Please? I ask patience if what should and is obvious flies over me and i ask a follow up that sounds patronizing i promise you its sincere.

Thank you

First steps:

Search for "Elden Ring mods nexus"
Go there and sort the mods by "popular all time" (imo good option for a first look)
Check out what interests you.
If you consider a mod read the instructions carefully and if needed, ask there (or here, but there is prob better).
Don't use mods in online play or you will get banned (from online play).

Thank you thats a great start to know. Does the steam workshop have mods, i kinda thought thats what its for, but again.... NO CLUE... Just got a PC and Monitor that make it worthwhile/Possible to add to my game and i feel like a creature living in a cave how little i know how to do this..... Basically anything more than clicking Buy and Install i havent bothered with for a long time

Only for games that officially support modding. Elden Ring does not, and modding can even get you banned from online play, hence the warnings to keep your modded gameplay offline-only.

they can, most bigger mods use their own savegames, smaller ones doesnt so keep that in mind. Just back up your save game before modding Win+R > in the pop up type "%appdata%" without the " tho, search for EldenRing > there should be a folder with tons of numbers inside that is a file called ER0000.sl2, this is your savegame, copy it somewhere and you are safe to play mods if you then want to play online again, just put that file back in there.

If you happen to get flagged for modding/cheating you get a msg telling u to change your previous behaviour, means get your backup and use that to play online, after some while the message just disappears again.

THANK YOU was totally unware of ban potential (tbh its slowly coming back to me the stories of people picking up items other players dropped to them and getting banned cuz it was something modded and they had no idea, but without this refreshing my memory it stay lost in my brain)
