Bugged map + rare crashes
Hi there, I came back to the game after a year (played without issues) and ended up with 2 unrelated problems.

1. I got invaded by a cheater who teleported me and allies under the map; nothing has been lost, since I managed to disconnect in time and retrieve runes after reloading, and in any case I had an extremely recent backup saved. The only remaining issue is the game map, which now appears not centered in the screen
spoiler alert: complete DLC map visible

Both regular map and DLC map are not centered anymore; this seems to be pg related, since with another character maps are OK.
This doesn't influence the gameplay at all, map is interactive and works normally, is just annoying to see.

2. After coming back, I am experiencing seldom crashes, meaning that at least once a week the game starts freezing for 4-5 seconds repeatedtly (every 5 mins) until crash, all other game sessions run smoothly; this isn't really a big deal for me, but since (1.) happened, I decided to adress both matters.
Here is the log:
Faulting module name: eldenring.exe, versione: 2.6.0.0, timestamp: 0x66ff8832
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000000e1cb5b

Thanks in advance to whoever can help!

EDIT: I forgot to add: matters are unrelated since crashes started occouring before the invasion. Also I attempted a complete reinstallation, but the map bug persists, so I guess it's related to pg savefiles

are there other error logs around this one not related to elden ring (drivers or windows itself)?

just to add, i would basically assume at a crash with this offset a instable CPU or GPU, so temperatures should be monitored to find out i it is heat related. also a RAM instability could be the cause, causing a faulty security connection to the OS/directx.

No other error logs sadly, but only because I don't need an high spec pc for work and elden ring is by far the biggest exe i run on this machine.
Is there any way to narrow down the issue? Or I should do some kind of PC mainetance for heating issues?

as said i would monitor the temperatures first, if you reach critical temperatures when the crash happens it is most likely the cause.

Cleaning the fan and applying thermal paste seems to have solved the freezes and crashes. No idea if the online thermal paste sellers online suggesting to reapply it every year are giving honest advice or just trying to increase their sales, but indeed basic PC mainetance was the solution
