Hit and run : how to beat the tree sentinel without leveling up (too much)
The basic idea is to avoid getting hit. Let me elaborate more on this...

After experimenting a lot, my first strategy was to aim for the horses tail, however after bringing the sentinels health bar to half, that thing always managed to bring me down with just two hits. The reason being: I could not figure out how to evade consistently the jumpy attack.

After progressing the main story a bit, I discovered that I also have a horse, and a new plan began to gestate. Now I had a speed advantage that I was missing before! Here is what you need to do:

  1. get yourself a steed, i.e. progress a bit the main quest
  2. before going into the battle mount Torrent
  3. charge the sentinel, hit him once, and after that simply run away
  4. keep running until the epic music stops
  5. if the sentinel is not dead go back to the step 3

It will take a while, but you will eventually get there. An important thing to remember is to avoid being too greedy. Even if you feel that you can score several hits it is better to run. Usually, if you loop around the building from which exited in the lands between, the sentinel will stop chasing you, and sometimes if it wanders off far enough from the spawning point the game will reposition it, without restoring its health bar. Therefore, you will be able to continue chopping that health bar, without being hit a single time!

I don't know if what I have just described is a well-known fact, but I discovered it today and I wanted to share this. I believe that an absolute beginner should be able to replicate this strategy. I would like to hear your thoughts. Was my suggestion helpful?

Cheesing open world bosses by running farther than they're allowed to chase you?
The bosses should get a full heal every time they're 'reset'. But oh well, they don't. ;)

I can guess that its intentional for bosses not to heal when they reset as a way to remove feel bads when being focused on the fight, moving around, and unintentionally deaggroing the boss. Especially because the player doesn't know what the bosses boundaries are just by sight.
I would argue that all the amazing music that you'll miss is a sufficient punishment for trying to cheese some of the bosses, especially the music that accompanies the transition between different phases of the boss. Anyways, using Torrent to defeat the sentinel feals way more satisfactory than to stare at a horses ass for the duration of an entire fight.

Better to just face it head on then!

Safest method I know: - Climb to the top of the Church of Elleh and shoot arrows at him.
Coolest method I know: - Make Agheel burn him on a cliff.

Can you get those two close enough together? They both reset to their spawns if they wander too far.
